Willow & Sage

Sage and Willow, the twins born at the Sanctuary, owe their lives to their mother, Momma Nell, a special needs goat we had taken in. Momma Nell had survived a brutal dog attack that left her immobile, and at the time, it was believed she had miscarried due to the trauma. However, after her arrival at our sanctuary, we discovered she was indeed pregnant. We did our utmost to care for her, using a harness to help her stand and prevent medical complications as her pregnancy progressed. Despite the growing difficulty for her to find comfort, we managed to keep her and the unborn kids safe.
On March 17, 2021, Momma Nell miraculously gave birth to Sage and Willow. Although she was unable to stand or walk, she devotedly nursed and cared for her daughters. Tragically, three weeks after the birth, Momma Nell passed away, leaving both her offspring and me in a state of shock and grief.
For three beautiful months, I had the honor of being part of her life. Nell was truly special; a gentle soul whose presence brought peace. I spent countless hours in the barn, lying beside her, vowing to help her care for her babies. Her sudden loss has left a profound emptiness in my heart.
Sage and Willow have inherited their mother's beautiful eyes and gentle disposition. They may not have special needs, but they are certainly special, carrying on the legacy of their remarkable mother.

Sage & Willow's birthday is March 17,2021
